Most machines within the Hofmann Megaplan tyre changer range can be upgraded to include the ‘evolution’, or ‘Evo’ leverless system.

Evo is a leverless mount/demount device, suitable for conventional, ultra low-profile and run flat tyres. It works in exactly the same way as a traditional tyre lever, but removes the need for manual intervention. Pneumatic activation, controlled by a simple switch, allows the finger tool to be inserted step by step under the tyre bead, to ease the demount process. It controls the bead lifting operation, avoiding damage to the tyre bead. The tool head is protected by easy to replace nylon-Kevlar inserts, eliminating the possibility of expensive rim damage through accident or tyre lever misuse.

This gives the operator the benefit of lever-less operation combined with the familiarity of conventional tyre changing to which they will have become accustomed.

Available as a retro-fit kit

The evolution leverless system is available as a retro-fit kit on most megamount tyre changers, allowing you to upgrade your conventional tyre changer to a leverless model in just a few minutes.

How it works

A simple thumb operated control lowers the ‘finger’ under the bead of the tyre and lifts the bead over the rim without effort. The finger is protected by a replaceable Kevlar cover for total piece of mind, and all other actions such as bead breaking and clamping are the same as that of the conventional tyre changers. This gives the operator the benefit of lever-less operation combined with the familiarity of conventional tyre changing to which they will have become accustomed.

Whilst all tilt-back machines within our range can be upgraded to include the ‘evolution’ leverless system, we also have a range of dedicated leverless machines, ready equipped with what is fast becoming standard fitment for any mid to high category tyre changer.
