What is Hubmatch?

Hubmatch is an innovative software, employed on the megaspin FastTouch, that displays and guides the operator on how to mount the wheel on the vehicle minimizing effects of tyre eccentricity. No new tyre is perfectly round, they all have a ‘high spot’, an area of the tyre that protrudes when checked for perfect roundness, which we call eccentricity. Think of an egg, and imagine the pointy end to be the highly exaggerated high spot of a tyre. We could perfectly balance that egg, but once the egg is rotating at high speed, the pointy part will create an additional imbalance that a conventional wheel balancer can’t determine. In the same way, wheels must be balanced and also be “round when rolling on the vehicle”.

In order to be sure that the vehicle moves without any annoying vibrations we need to eliminate high levels of eccentricity.

In one single spin, Hubmatch detects the highest point of the wheel and displays it on-screen, enabling the technician to mount the wheel on the hub in such a way that it reduces the assembly eccentricity by up to 0.2mm, using just the hub bore and gravity.
