Post-lockdown MOT demand proving too much for garages!
Many testing garages are raising the issue that the DVSA’s “Beat the Rush” Campaign isn’t doing enough to help with the incredible demand expected for the Autumn months.
The campaign calls on garages to urge their customers to bring forward their MOT test to spread out the increase in testing demand this autumn, across the remaining months in 2020.
A number of vehicle owners continue to put off their MOT test until the end of the 6-month exemption period, with many owners not wanting to pay out for the test and any associated fixes, as they are still on furlough.
Throughout August, the DVSA has stated that over 20,000 extra tests have been performed daily which is even expected to rise significantly into October & November. Already garage owners are being pushed to perform above their capabilities, with some industry experts asking garages to extend their opening times to cope with the excess work.
For many business owners, the extra revenue is a welcomed sight, but it also brings unexpected breakdowns and extra maintenance for their MOT servicing equipment.
Let us assist in your MOT Equipment Maintenance!
Here at AMN, we have been assisting garages across the UK with their MOT equipment maintenance, to ensure their services are never at a standstill.
For many years now, we have been discussing with business owners the importance of having someone to manage their MOT Bay. 2020 has proven how this is a necessity for the success of a garage’s MOT servicing.
