megamount 70LLF Tyre Changer
A new breed of tyre changer from Hofmann Megaplan. Designed and manufactured 100% in Italy, the new megamount 70LLF is unashamedly over-engineered. With an emphasis on build quality and ergonomics, key features include an intelligently designed, progressive turntable speed function (from 0 to 16 rpm), removeable pedal box, and super-duty fully-automatic operation.
Manufactured 100% in Italy, this brand new model is unashamedly over-engineered - although, in many respects it is not that new at all! Our factory was producing tyre changers in this style for decades, but as manufacturing processes progressed, and Italy was challenged by lower cost production in the Far East that simply cannot be competed with, components and technology provided for an increasingly competitive 'street price' for tyre changers in general.
The megamount 70LLF is actually based on these original, traditional designs, which have simply been brought up to date in order to work with the current crop of rims and tyres. The reason for this is quite simple, there are still a lot of the old tyre changers out there, and people say 'I bet I'll never get one like this again!'. Well, actually.... The chassis and column are manufactured and finished with an emphasis on longevity; the megamount 70LLF may seem expensive, but when compared to the shorter life and potential downtime you will likely experience with a lower cost machine, then actually it's quite easy to determine that it is, long term, probably considerably cheaper! This heavy-duty construction (with an emphasis on 'heavy'!) also delivers a level of rigidity, again long term, which eliminates the movement or 'flex' that can develop over time, resulting ultimately in damaged rims or ripped beads.
The HPX Advance 'Assist' System boasts not one, but TWO pneumatic cylinders, which means the 'press' device can actually be used as a bead breaker as opposed to just a tool for pressing the bead into the well of the rim. How many times have we seen tyre technicians try this with a conventional assist arm, only to damage the machine simply because they are not designed for this. Well, now we can actually condone what is clearly a feature that people want.
Other features that complete the flagship status of the megamount 70LLF tyre changer are 'leverless' operation, integral wheel lifter, infinitely variable turntable speed control up to 16 rpm (the operator can fully control the speed by pressing the pedal as you would with an accelerator pedal in a car) and 26" clamping capability.
