Steering & Suspension Testing (Joint Play detectors)
Regular inspection of the steering and suspension components of a heavy commercial vehicle is essential. Out of tolerance play in steering and suspension joints, no matter how small, increases the potential for unnecessary accidents considerably. When employed as part of a regular maintenance and testing regime, Luxus Commercial Vehicle Play Detectors, or ‘shaker plates’ will minimise this major safety risk.

The Luxus PD1602-D in-ground Commercial Vehicle Play Detector for light and heavy vehicles, buses and coaches up to 18,000kg axle load from ISN Garage Assist is the perfect testing solution. Maximum extension of the suspension components can be achieved, allowing early stage defect detection. In-ground installation alongside a workshop pit is recommended as it is both space saving and convenient.
The Luxus on-floor solution provides workshops without a pit the ability to perform steering and suspension play diagnosis quickly and accurately. This version incorporates a robust frame with four hot-galvanized ramps, providing enough clearance to allow the tester to thoroughly and comfortably diagnose play in any joints. The flat frame design allows for short ramps, minimising the space requirement. It can also be combined with a Luxus BT306 on-floor/mobile brake tester.
